About the Department

History is a popular subject at every level of the School at KEHS. You can read a full description of the Department, its aims and approaches on the History Department page of the KEHS School website, and details of the History Department’s curriculum can be found in the School’s Curriculum booklets, available for download here. The Department is housed in three newly refurbished, dedicated History classrooms, and consists of five subject specialists:

  • Mr. Andrew Wager (Head of History), B.A. University of Birmingham.
  • Dr. Andrew Limm
  • Mrs. Cas Britton, B.A. London School of Economics and Political Science, University of London: Mrs. Britton is a busy member of both the Department and KEHS community. She teaches History from the Thirds through IGCSE level and supervises AQA Level 3 projects. She co-ordinates production of the School’s annual publication, Phoenix, and is extensively involved with the Old Edwardians.
  • Ms. Susan Pallister, B.A. University of Birmingham, M.A. University of York: Ms. Pallister teaches History to several classes in the Upper Fourth, in addition to her senior role in the School as Vice Principal – Curriculum.  You can read her blog here, which focuses primarily on educational issues but never loses sight of History.
  • Miss Hannah Plant, B.A. St. John’s College, University of Cambridge: Miss Plant joined the Department in September 2012, having completed her honours degree in History at Cambridge.
